Heathy's Top Five....ANIME

:D I decided to give you what is called 'Heathy's Top Five in the Anime World'. This really should be going on my Anime Princess blog, but I decided to put it here to replace the...eh hem...rather depressing post before this. XD And yes, these are in order from no. 1 to no. 5.

Alright. So first we're going to do:
Heathy's Top Five Anime of All Time

1. Kobato

Reasons I like it:
Kobato is at the top of my list simply because it's the best anime ever! X3 I love Kobato, Ioryogi and Fujimoto's character development and the story gets much deeper as you go along. It's slice of life (my favorite genre) and Kobato wears Lolita-esque outfits in every episode! ♥ It also has the best ending I've ever seen. :3 An all around great anime that anyone would love.

Reasons I dislike it:
Kobato does tend to slow down sometimes. I suppose every anime must have it's fillers. XD There is also some re-incarnation ideas going on near the end of the story. I wish we had learned a little more about Ioryogi's gang and their true forms, but the anime had to stop some where.

How and when did I find this?
I originally wanted to watch this anime because I had heard that the Tsubasa characters show up in episode 20. So, being the perfectionist I am, I HAD to watch the entire series so I didn't miss anything. Plus, it's CLAMP's latest, and I'm a CLAMP addict. I found this one at the beginning of April.

How does this anime differ from the manga?
I found that the manga skips over much more time then the anime. In the manga, it takes her an entire year to get the bottle that she is supposed to be filling. In the anime, she gets the bottle in the first episode and the story can progress immediately. I thought that the first volume of the manga was extremely slow.

2. Ouran High School Host Club

Reasons I like this
I love the idea of hot guys running a club where girls can go and get pampered by whoever they choose. What more can I say? Alright, the animation is awesome. It can be comical and beautiful all at the same time. I love the cast of characters and, of course, the guy in glasses: Kyouya. XD (I'm a serious sucker for guys with glasses...) For a 26 episode anime, they cover alot of important material...and it doesn't seem rushed. Actually, it's not super slow either. I'd say it's a very well balanced show. My favorite for a long time before Kobato came along. And even now it's still kind of at a tie with Kobato.

Reasons I dislike this
Alright, being the Christian I am, I cannot agree with the Twins' "act". XD (The twins brothers in the show play up their 'brotherly love' and make it look all gay for the ladies who seem to enjoy it...strangely...) Also, the character development itself is great...but for the main couple, it doesn't go anywhere. At least in the anime. So, if you were expecting a romantic ending...you don't get it.

How and when did I find this?
I first saw it at Sugoicon 2008 in the screening room. I had gotten bored with the panel my mom was in, and so I asked if I could go to the anime screening room. I had no clue what the heck was going on with the beautiful boys on screen...but then, several months later, (about January) I came across a music video for it and looked up the first episode. I asked Gwen over, and we stayed up almost all night watching it. Yup. Hooked. It is still one of our all time favorite animes of all time and it's been about 2 1/2 years.

How does this anime differ from the manga?
Well, for one, the character development goes so much deeper. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!!!!!!!!! Haruhi and Tamaki's relationship actually takes a romantic turn, and everyone has graduation looming over their heads. Once everyone graduates, the Host Club is disbanded forever. END SPOILER!!!! I haven't finished the manga yet, but I'm sure it will be more...complete...then the anime.

3. Durarara!!

Reasons I like this
Again, I like the cast of characters. By the end of the series, everyone seems to be connected in some way. The anime is well balanced with a good pace, good characters, interesting and intermingling storylines (yes, plural), and even some comedy relief when you need it. All around good anime.

Reasons I dislike this
The violence in this show is very..er..graphic. Apparently, the characters have truck loads of blood inside them. XD Sometimes, things can get confusing. And, because it's a shonen, all of the females have huge top halfs. -sigh- Boys... Good and evil is a little blurred in the show, and the gang wars cause many innocent people in the show to get hurt.

How and when did I find this?
Emily forced me to watch it when she came over this last fall. XD I honestly didn't think about continuing it until about 6 months later, when my mom and I were out of anime to watch. But once we started it, we couldn't stop. When we got to the end, we watched about 7 episodes to finish it all in one spree. XD

How does this anime differ from the manga?
I wouldn't be able to answer that...because there either isn't any manga made of it (the original story was from a light novel, which is like a regular novel with manga pictures every once in a while. ), or I just haven't found it yet.

4. Hetalia Axis Powers

Reasons I like this
Ah, Hetalia. It's funny and addicting, but totally pointless. XD The characters are all countries, which I'm a sucker for personified stuff. :3 It's a great idea, if you think about it. The fanart for it is also amazing. :3 I would reccomend watching youtube videos about it, because those are just as amazing. Read my full review here

Reasons I dislike this
The main problem? It has no storyline. Yes, it would be an amazing anime if it had more of a storyline and more character development. The animation sucks sometimes and several of the characters have dirty mouths. There is some..er..suggestive themes in it, but they are easily avoidable if you don't look at it that way. (i.e. Stay away from the fandom for this anime. Just don't even go there.)

How and when did I find this anime?
I found it around April 2010, when it was just getting popular. But it was still pretty unknown even then. I don't even remember how I found it, exactly...XD

How does this anime differ from the manga?
Well, for one thing, it has better art then the manga. And another thing, the anime is more...more...hm... The manga's humor is thrown at you, and it doesn't leave you to decide for yourself and, in my opinion, that takes away from the funny-ness.

5. ...............
I saved the number five spot for anything that I want to put there. ^^

Thank you for reading this first installment in 'Heathy's Top Five' :D See you next time!
The rest of this series will be on my anime blog. ^^ Hope you keep reading!
