There's a bit of a story to my first and last Prom night.
As most of you know, I've been homeschooled basically my whole life. And I was losing hope of ever, ever getting to go to prom because there were no homeschool proms at ALL in my area. And my BFF, Gwen, didn't really invite me to hers and I didn't want to intrude.
Anyway, so I didn't even pray about it to go or anything, I was just kind of like, "Eh, it's only prom. What's the big deal (tear tear )"
And what do you know? About a month before prom, Gwen calls me up and invites me. OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So my mom and I got right to work designing and creating the perfect prom dress. I wanted it to be pink and vintage looking, so we settled on the pattern you see above. I also had these awesome shoes that were short heels with a floral print and bows on the front. Very Disney Princess. So my whole theme was around those shoes.
Anyway, finally the day of the Prom arrived, and we all showed up at dear Stacy's house to get ready. It was so exciting and very girly. >w< I had never done something like that, and there was a special buzz around all the moms and daughters. ♥ Once we had all settled into the car for the day (so kindly driven by Stacy's aunt. ), we all headed off to the park for some photoshoot pictures. I have to say that I don't look the best in most of them, but I love alot of the ones that we took. After that was ice cream run at UDF. :3 Got a chocolate malt, cause I love those things. The woman who ran the store was so excited to have prom people in there because she had never had prom girls in there before (I'm sorry if this is confusing you. It's too late to be typing something like this but I had the itch to update my bloggy. )
After that (my favorite phrase in this post, huh? ) we went to eat dinner at a Japanese steak house. I never knew that it would be so GOOD!~ We had a great time and it was so cool to see it being cooked right in front of us.
Soon, we finally reached the building that held the prom! The theme was Midnight in Paris. (Which I was so excited about until I found out how generic that theme is. OTL ) We had the best time dancing and singing and laughing and getting blinded by the lights and filling up on pretzels and soda. Yeah, it was great. Fortunantely, there was a couch in the bathroom, so we had a place to escape when it became to overwhelming.
I didn't know many of the songs that they played, but the ones that I did know were so fun to dance with Gwen and her friends to! I especially enjoyed "Forget You' by Ceelo Green. Wooo!
Finally, at about midnight, the ball ended and us girls went to Holly's house to get undressed and ready for After Prom.
I have to say that After Prom was almost more fun than Prom. XD There was so much fun stuff to do! Like a blow up rat race game, and a picture booth, and toilet cart racing and massages, and facepainting and all that other stuff. I think I ate WAY to much Skyline and Fritos though, so I wasn't feeling too awesome. :/ But Lauren (Gwen's friend who is just my style ) , Gwen and I all had such an amazing time hanging out together. :D
This went on until about 4 am, when the raffle was drawn. Long story short, I put all of my raffle tickets into the Chik-fil-A bucket, when the other people put theirs into the TV and microwaves and stuff... And I won it! I won 50 free Chik-Fil-A sammies and I don't regret it! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
We were all so tired and worn out after 12 straight hours of non-stop-fun, that we all went our seperate ways and went to bed. I'm not kidding, we fell asleep as soon as we hit that pillow. Gwen was kind enough to let me sleep over at her house that night.
All in all, it was a magical experience. I had a great time and I'm a little sad that I don't get to do it again. :) But thank you Lord for giving me that opportunity and thank you Gwenny for inviting me! It was the perfect way to end Highschool.
